Primary Care and Traumatic Brain Injury

Overview

Geared towards primary care providers working with patients with brain injury, learners will hear from a variety of speakers impacted by traumatic brain injury (TBI), and learn strategies that are helpful in their care or practice.

The course contains three modules with reviews after each module and a final exam upon course completion.

Course Objectives

  1. Define acquired and traumatic brain injury including incidence, severity and marked functional changes.
  2. Identify vulnerable populations to TBI and considerations as primary care staff.
  3. List different screening methods used at the primary care level for TBI.
  4. Explain how primary care staff can be involved in the continuum of care for individuals with TBI.
